Mourinho: Defeat of Newcastle Not Affect Mental Chelsea
London – Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has reiterated that his team is fine after defeated Newcastle United. Mourinho mental states of the Blues is not affected by the defeat.
Chelsea had just swallowed his first defeat in 22 matches in all competitions this season. Eden Hazard and his friends are forced to give up 1-2 by Newcastle at St. James‘ Park on Saturday (06/12/2014) ago.
The defeat leaves Chelsea failed to maintain distance with Manchester City in the Premier League. Both teams are now just three points only.
According to Mourinho, his team could not win all the games and defeat him is something that should be accepted.
“From a mental standpoint, the defeat at Newcastle did not have any effect on us. We are fine, we do not need a reaction,” Mourinho said on Sky Sports.
“I always say that the defeat will come and is not caused by a sense of satisfaction. I am more than just happy with my players and the situation. I accept defeat is a normal situation in competitions such as the Premier League,” he added.
“We do not need to change anything. We could not be in a better situation. Being at the top of the Premier League, the top spot in the Champions League group, and the last eight of the League Cup,” said the Portuguese manager‘s.
Chelsea will host Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League on Thursday (12/11/2014) pm dawn. After that, they will face Hull City this weekend.
“When you lose, you want to win the next game. The next game is Wednesday and we want a good result,” said Mourinho.
