Van Persie Not Out
Manchester – Robin van Persie wants to show that he has not run out and still be able to show off to the next few years. According to the Manchester United striker, age is not a problem.
Van Persie indeed had dimmed at the start of this season. Until mid-November, he has scored three goals in the Premier League.
However, lately the 2012/2013 season’s top scorer began diligently scored again. In the last three games, he scored three goals. Two goals of which MU win over Southampton 2-1, earlier this week.
“When you pass the age of 30 and you live a bad moment, everyone said it was because you had 30 or 31 years and all of them may be over for you,” said Van Persie told MUTV.
“Now I am almost sure that I will still be playing for many years into the future at the highest level, at least that’s what I want and that’s what my target,” he added.
“For me, age is not a problem at all,” said the 31-year.
Van Persie said he really had trouble at the beginning of the season due to his physical condition is drained after defending the Netherlands in the 2014 World Cup.
“It was a tough start to the season. It’s hard to go straight back to your best performance,” said Van Persie.
“But, in the last few weeks I feel very good physically,” he continued.
“I felt I could be a lot of running and keep fighting until the last part of the game. I feel good and I think it‘s no coincidence that the goals started to flow,” he said.
